The story is tariffs, not blackouts.
South African electricity keeps getting more expensive. NERSA approved an 8.76% Eskom increase from April 2026, with municipal bulk tariffs rising about 9.01% from July 2026, and further increases already approved for 2027. What your municipality then charges households is approved separately, and it follows the same direction of travel. That is what makes storage pay back: store cheaper energy, use it at peak, and rely less on the grid. Backup during outages comes as a bonus.

These are the maximum figures across the home battery range rather than per model. The 24 kWh and 144 kWh capacities are the S6000 and S6000 AC Pro: 144 kWh means six units, each already stacked to its full 24 kWh, joined by a parallel connection box, which is a separate product. Six base units give 36 kWh. Multi-unit figures are drawn across all three phases, and most South African homes are single-phase, so ask us to size it properly before you plan around a number. The ten-year warranty covers the home battery range; the portable power station is warranted separately.
